Temperature measurement at 87 km altitude with GRIPS

The GRound-based Infrared P-Branch Spectrometer (GRIPS) located in Wuppertal is used by our research group to determine the temperature of the mesopause at an altitude of 87 km (+/- 2 km) in "every" night.  The GRIPS measurements have been carried out continuously since 1980 by means of the GRIPS II device or its successor, GRIPS-N. Another device, Mc-GRIPS, is currently under construction. The following work packages are currently available: GRIPS Master Thesis (pdf)
