GRIPS - long-term measurements at the mesopause near 87 km altitude

Over 40 years of temperature measurements at 87 km altitude

Since 1980 the GRound-based Infrared P-Branch Spectrometer (GRIPS) located in Wuppertal has been used to measure the temperature of the mesopause at an altitude of 87 km (+/- 2 km) in "every" night. You can find the corresponding press article here. More than 4000 nightly mean temperatures are available.
